Tampa Indie Author Book Convention 2019

June 17, 2019

I am so honored and excited to be attending the Tampa Indie Author Book Convention this year! The event is running July 13th through 14th at the Hampton Inn & Suites Tampa Airport Avion Park Westshore. There are some incredible authors attending already, which makes it even more exciting to be attending!

With this being my first convention, I know I will learn a lot from the experience. I'm excited to go and also incredible nervous! Writing novellas (and dystopian ones, at that) I tend to feel a bit out of place in the writing community because so many people are writing full length novels. I do have a few of those up my sleeve as well, but for now, my focus is on the shorter length pieces. That was a part of why I chose this event to be my first convention-- with all Indie authors, I'm hoping to make some friends in the community.

There are a lot of logistics to think about here, and as business-minded as I can be, I still have a full time job and a novella I'm planning on publishing in the fall. Which means there is a lot on my plate right now. Don't take that as a complaint, I'm incredibly grateful for the work!

I am looking forward to making a "lessons learned" post once the convention is over, that's for sure. Right now, I am trying to cover all of my bases and getting ready for a great time!

I will also be planning a small giveaway at the convention, so be sure to follow me on Twitter @SamNicklaus for updates!
